In here, you have an article about whether or not foods that have been genetically modified should have to be labeled as such. Read the full article and annotate it for the following: Highlight and take notes on both the claims and evidence that the author presents. You will use this information in tomorrow’s class.

With technology, we are quickly becoming the mass society that Beatty describes in real life. How to we ensure that in our society we hear people’s concerns, but do not fall into the “ultra PC” society that Beatty describes in which we oversimplify things to the point where people no longer care? Argumentative Writing (30 minutes): Write a clear argumentative paragraph for the following question: Should companies and farmers have to label their produce and animal products with a “Genetically Modified Organism” (GMO) label if they have been modified? --> Create a page on your F451 Tab and label it "GMO Response" and put your answer there.
Free Write (20 minutes): Create a page with today’s date in your free write tab and complete a 2 paragraph free write on anything you’d like to discuss.
Current Event Articles (30 minute): Go to OneNote à Content Library à Handouts à Officials discuss pros and cons of arming school teachers. Copy the article to your F451 Tab and read the article “Officials discuss pros and cons of arming school teachers” Annotate this article by highlighting claims and evidence that you find both in favor and opposition of the idea of arming teachers.
Current Event Argumentative Writing (40 minutes): Write a clear argumentative paragraph for the following question: In order to deal with the issue of school shootings, do you believe that teachers should be armed? --> Create a page on your F451 Tab and label it "Armed Teacher Response" and put your answer there.
