Entry #3: The vignette “Four Skinny trees” is not actually about trees! We will be discussing this in class today, but to get you thinking about the vignette, answer this question in at least 1 paragraph:
What keeps you going in life? What or who motivates you to keep pushing on?
Bring in something from your own culture that is meaningful to you. It can be something symbolic or something literal. It can be in any form – a written text, a song, a photograph, etc.

Of the 9 Vignette’s you will read tonight: Pick one vignette and write a short 1 paragraph response paper about it. You may write about your personal feelings, relate it to something that has happened to you or someone you know, etc. In another paragraph you must also explain what the theme of the chosen chapter is and support your idea with evidence from the text. This will be collected at the beginning of the next class period.
